Del Toro defends his crown in a star-studded Gran Piemonte

Gran Piemonte starts today at 12:00 CEST with 185 kilometres from Asti to Bra and around 2,450 metres of climbing. The route crosses the Langhe hills and includes two passages over La Morra, the final one only 13.6 kilometres from the finish, before a fast approach into Bra.

Defending champion Isaac del Toro leads a strong field that also includes Michael Matthews, Mads Pedersen, Jhonatan Narváez, Filippo Ganna, Brandon McNulty, Corbin Strong and Italian junior world champion Lorenzo Finn. The expected finish is around 16:29 CEST, with the final circuit offering opportunities for both attacking puncheurs and fast riders who survive the climbs.
