Izagirre and Mollema bow out at Il Lombardia

Ion Izagirre and Bauke Mollema will end their professional careers at Il Lombardia on Saturday, 10 October. The Spaniard, 37, and the Dutchman, 39, share a farewell at the season's final Monument.

Cofidis confirmed Izagirre's participation despite the left wrist fracture he suffered in a training crash on 30 September. A Tour de France stage winner in 2016 and 2023 and a Vuelta stage winner in 2020, he also won this year's GP Miguel Indurain and Memorial Marco Pantani.

Mollema returns to the race he won in 2019. His record also includes the 2016 Clásica de San Sebastián, Tour stages in 2017 and 2021, and a Vuelta stage in 2013. Como will bring their racing careers to a close.
