Sam Welsford swaps INEOS for Jayco AlUla

Sam Welsford will race for Jayco AlUla in 2027 and 2028 after signing a two-year contract. The Australian sprinter leaves Netcompany INEOS to join his home country's WorldTour team.

The move also reunites him with Kell O'Brien and Oliver Bleddyn, two of his teammates in Australia's Olympic gold-winning team pursuit squad at Paris 2024. His track background is a significant part of the speed he brings to road sprints.

Welsford, 30, described the transfer as a return home. Jayco AlUla's performance director Gene Bates said the team will focus on developing his road racing and sprinting, with projects spanning the next two seasons.
