Magnus Bak Klaris became men’s elite gravel world champion in Nannup, Australia, on 11 October. The Dane beat Gianni Vermeersch and Connor Swift in the sprint for gold; Mads Würtz Schmidt finished fourth.

The 144-kilometre course featured around 3,713 metres of climbing. Four riders contested the decisive finish, with Klaris producing the winning sprint ahead of the Belgian and the Briton.

Denmark placed two riders in the leading quartet, but it was Klaris who claimed the rainbow jersey. Vermeersch took silver and Swift bronze after a demanding day on the Australian gravel.
